TS-50 Track Stabilizer

TS-50 Track Stabilizer

Technical Description

  • Average Production Rate - 1600 meters per hour/5250 feet
  • Overall Unit Length - 508"
  • Overall Unit Width - 99.5"
  • Overall Unit Height (on rail) - 142"
  • Axle Loads in Travel Mode:
    • Axle 1 (Front) 18,773 kg/41,387 pounds
    • Axle 2 (Rear) 22,044 kg/48,598 pounds
    • Total Weight 40,823 kg/90,000 pounds
  • Maximum radius curve machine can negotiate when in travel mode - 95 m/314 feet
  • Minimum radius curve machine can negotiate when in work mode - 140 m/462 feet
  • Stabilizing Workheads - Two hydraulic motors rotating in opposite direction and synchronized via a gear box, driving two driveshafts connected to the vibrator eccentric masses.
  • Working Frequency - 0-45hz
  • Lowering and raising the heads - Four hydraulic cylinders connected from the main frame to the vibrating buggie. The left front and right rear wheels of the vibrator buggy are each mounted on an arm that allows the wheels to swing right or left on each rail.
  • Levelling System
    • The machine is equipped with an inclinometer mounted on the front axle, an inclinometer mounted on the rear axle, two LVDT's mounted between the vibrating buggy and the main frame of the machine measuring the displacement relationship of each rail to the main frame. These values are displayed on the operator screen.
    • The operator's monitor displays the measured values. The operator manually manages the down force on the cylinders, the vibrator frequency and the advancing work rate.
  • Recording Equipment - The Motorola 68030 computer records all the previously described measurements in relation to the distances measured by a recorder wheel. All functions are displayed on a 15 inch super VGA monitor.
  • Cabin - Steel structure, insulated and shock mounted and climate controlled.
  • Air Conditioner - Red Dot - R5045 Evaporator R9730 Condenser - Refrigerant - R134A
  • Seats - Operator's seat equipped with arm rests and lumbar support.
  • Method and position of controls
    • Travel forward/reverse - selectable push button on left hand arm rest.
    • Working controls - Floor switch continually depress to sustain forward travel.
    • Brakes - air operated with failsafe features activating eight composition shoes.
    • Stabilizing Heads Raise/Lower - hydraulically from the operator's cab.
    • LVDT's Raise/Lower - hydraulically from the operator's cabin.
    • Adjustment of levelling - via the computer from the operator's cabin.
  • Power Unit - Cummins 6CT8.3 - 260
  • Transmission - Two variable displacement hydraulic motors each driving a two-speed powershift transmission connected by a drive shaft to a gear box mounted on each axle.
  • Travel speeds - Level track - 80 km/h/50 mph
  • Suspension - Elastomeric Chevron type rubber elements laminated with steel plates.
  • Braking - A lever operated air valve progressively allows air to reach the brake chambers which when extended generates an amplified force by means of mechanical ratio controlling the brake shoe.
  • Hydraulic System - Two variable displacement piston pumps driven by a pump drive generate the flow and pressure required for all the machine functions. Two fixed displacement gear pumps provide the flow and pressure required by the vibrator proportional valves are used for vibrator speed control, traction system and down force on the lift cylinders.
